Lab research has once again shown the health benefits of broccoli, kale, cabbage, and other cruciferous vegetables, specifically demonstrating their effects on fighting triple-negative breast cancer. Indole-3-carbinole, which is found in high quantities in these vegetables, has long been considered a potential cancer fighter. Now, research in Italy published in Breast Cancer Research, demonstrates that it shows promise as an injectable anti-cancer agent for TNBC tumors as well as for those that are hormone-responsive. Researchers worked in the lab on tumor cells. Clinical trials on humans would be the next step. In the meanwhile, it might be good to keep these veggies in your fridge:
